MaineHealth Hospital Art Exhibition Program

Hospital art committee seeks Maine artists for rotating 12-week exhibitions in hospital hallways to promote healing environments.

MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals Art Committee offers ongoing opportunities for artists with ties to Maine and New England to display their work in rotating 12-week exhibitions. The committee, composed of care team members from both hospitals, carefully selects artists whose work reflects their mission of creating comforting and engaging environments that celebrate the diversity, history, and beauty of the Midcoast region. Currently featuring works by Kristin Golden, Penny Linn, and Penny Markley, the exhibitions are displayed along first-floor hallways near the laboratory and cardiac rehabilitation department at MaineHealth Waldo Hospital in Belfast. Each piece is thoughtfully chosen to promote healing and create welcoming spaces for patients, visitors, and staff. The program showcases a diverse range of artists and mediums from across Maine, with each exhibit including QR codes that provide additional information about featured artists when scanned. Artists selected from the annual call for submissions become part of a year-long series of rotating exhibitions, with 23 artists currently chosen to participate in the program.
