Massena Artists Association Open Show 2026
Call for artwork submissions for the MAA Open Show running Jan 24-Feb 28 at Massena Public Library with awards and public reception.
The Massena Artists Association (MAA) is hosting its Open Show from January 24 through February 28, 2026, at the Massena Public Library. This exhibition showcases both adult artists and Massena Central High School (MCHS) art students, with a unique judging structure where student work is evaluated by MAA members and adult work is judged by student artists.
The show launches with a public reception on Saturday, January 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Awards will be presented starting at 11 a.m., with student artists recognized first, followed by adult artists. Both groups will receive ribbons and certificates for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Honorable Mentions, along with constructive feedback from judges.
Adult artists may submit up to 2 pieces of original artwork with a $5 entry fee per submission. Accepted mediums include Acrylic, Digital, Drawing, Fiber Art, Mixed Media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Sculpture, and Watercolor. Hanging artwork must not exceed 36" x 36" and must be properly wired for display. Artwork can be priced for sale or marked NFS (not for sale), with any sales handled directly between artist and buyer.
Artwork delivery takes place at the Massena Library on three dates: Tuesday, January 13 (2:00-3:15 p.m.), Wednesday, January 14 (6:00-7:45 p.m.), or Friday, January 16 (10 a.m.-4:40 p.m.). Artists must preregister by email with their name, piece title, medium, and price information. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to gain exhibition experience and community exposure while connecting with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.
