Massena Artists Association Open Show 2026
Open art exhibition for adult artists and high school students at Massena Public Library, Jan 24-Feb 28, 2026. Submit up to 2 pieces.
The Massena Artists Association (MAA) Open Show is an inclusive exhibition showcasing the work of both adult artists and Massena Central High School (MCHS) art students. The show runs from January 24 through February 28, 2026, at the Massena Public Library.
This unique event features a reciprocal judging system: student artwork will be evaluated by three MAA members, while adult artwork will be judged by three student artists. This collaborative approach creates meaningful community engagement between emerging and established artists.
The exhibition kicks off with a public reception on Saturday, January 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Awards will be presented beginning at 11 a.m., with student artists recognized first, followed by adult artists. Both categories will receive ribbons and certificates for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Honorable Mentions, along with constructive feedback from judges.
Adult artists are invited to participate by submitting up to 2 pieces of original artwork. The entry fee is $5 per artist. Accepted mediums include: Acrylic, Digital, Drawing, Fiber Art, Mixed Media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Sculpture, and Watercolor. Hanging artwork must not exceed 36" x 36" and must be properly wired for display. Artists may price their work or mark pieces as NFS (not for sale), with sales handled directly between artist and buyer.
This is an excellent opportunity for the community to appreciate the talent of local high school art students and established adult artists, fostering cultural appreciation and artistic development.
