Mattatuck Museum MIXMASTER 2026 Juried Exhibition

Annual juried exhibition for New England & Tri-State artists. Submissions due Nov 17. Open to all media, works from last 3 years.

The Mattatuck Museum's ninth annual MIXMASTER is a juried exhibition seeking to discover and recognize contemporary artists from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. This prestigious exhibition provides established and emerging artists the opportunity to debut recent works completed within the last three years. The show runs January 18 through February 22, 2026, offering artists significant visibility within the regional arts community. This year's distinguished juror is Laurel V. McLaughlin, PhD, Curator and Director of the Collective Futures Fund at Tufts University Art Galleries, whose expertise spans contemporary sculpture, installation, new media, and social practice projects. Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply, with submissions limited to original works not previously exhibited in Connecticut museums. The exhibition fosters community appreciation for contemporary artistic expressions while supporting both established and emerging voices in the regional art scene.
