Mensch Maschine 2025-2026: Art, Energy & Ecology Fellowship
Four fully funded €20,000 fellowships for international artists exploring art, energy, and ecology with studio residency at E-WERK Luckenwalde.
Mensch Maschine offers four fully funded fellowships of €20,000 each to international artists working at the intersection of art, energy, and ecology. This collaborative program between JUNGE AKADEMIE of the Akademie der Künste, VISIT, the E.ON Foundation, and E-WERK Luckenwalde focuses on the thematic concept of 'Mechanic Ghosts and Entangled Realities.' Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply with projects that explore the human-machine relationship. The program includes an exhibition, symposium, interdisciplinary autumn school, and artist residency. Selected artists will receive studio space at either E-WERK Luckenwalde or Akademie der Künste in Berlin from April to June 2026. A distinguished jury includes Nolan Oswald Dennis, Chus Martinez, Kirsten Reese, Tiara Roxanne, Sarah Johanna Theurer, and Anh-Lingh Ngo. The initiative aims to address AI's impact on Earth, climate, and humanity while exploring alternative narratives of technology and intelligence in the arts from global perspectives.
