MFA Curating at Goldsmiths, University of London is now welcoming applications for the 2026–27 entry. This two-year program (September 18, 2026–September 1, 2028) is designed for aspiring curators and arts professionals seeking to develop their practice in contemporary curating as an artistic, social, and critical undertaking.
The program focuses on curating contemporary art while acknowledging historical genealogies of the discipline. It explores curating from aesthetic, social, political, and philosophical perspectives relevant to present-day culture. Students engage in theoretical study combined with practical experience through close collaboration with Goldsmiths CCA, a vibrant platform for international contemporary art.
Key features include exhibition and gallery tours in London and beyond, regular international artist presentations, and interdisciplinary collaborations with other programs including MA Art and Ecology, MFA Fine Art, and MA Artists' Film & Moving Image. The curriculum provides practical knowledge in exhibition management, working with artists, curatorial projects, and public programming.
The program operates on a peer-to-peer learning model emphasizing independent thinking, collaboration, critical thinking, and accountability. Upon graduation, students access a fellowship scheme and opportunities to realize curatorial projects through partnerships with organizations including Cubitt, Forma, Gasworks, Acme, and Artangel. Professional development placements are available at Tate Modern, Government Art Collection, and Peer Gallery.
