Midnight on Front Street Promotional Poster

Hattiesburg seeks local artists to create the annual New Year's Eve promotional poster. Open to residents of all ages.

The City of Hattiesburg is launching a call for artists to create the promotional poster for its annual "Midnight on Front Street" New Year's Eve celebration. This opportunity is part of a tradition established in 2019 to feature original artwork from local artists on the city's official poster.

The competition is open to all City of Hattiesburg residents, regardless of age or experience level. Whether you're an elementary school student, middle school artist, or adult professional, you are invited to submit your work. The city has a proven track record of discovering talented local artists through this competition, with previous winners ranging from elementary and middle school students to adults.

Each artist is permitted to submit one entry only. The submission deadline is December 12, 2025. The selected design and winning artist will be announced during the week of December 15, 2025.

According to Mayor Toby Barker, the poster competition serves multiple purposes: it showcases local talent, generates excitement around the holiday season, and builds anticipation for the New Year's Eve celebration. The winning artwork will be prominently featured as the official promotional material for Hattiesburg's Midnight on Front Street event.

This is an excellent opportunity for local artists to gain recognition, have their work displayed publicly, and contribute to a community celebration. Winners receive the honor of seeing their design used for an official city promotion and being recognized as the featured artist for the year.
