Mural Painting Project at Golden Harvest Community Kitchen

Artists and volunteers needed to paint a community mural representing the CSRA region at Golden Harvest Community Table in Augusta, Georgia.

Golden Harvest Community Table is inviting artists and volunteers to participate in creating a vibrant community mural that represents the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) region. This is an active community art project currently underway at Golden Harvest's community kitchen location in Augusta, Georgia.

Project Details:
The mural is designed to symbolize both the current state and future vision of Golden Harvest Community Table. The artwork incorporates meaningful regional imagery including fish representing the Savannah River, crops symbolizing the farmland throughout the region, and the riverwatch cityscape. The overall message emphasizes community welcome, visibility, and love.

Participation Information:
Volunteers and artists are working together three days per week to paint the mural, weather permitting (work halts during cold weather). The project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete from the publication date of February 13, 2026.

Project Goals:
According to artists Mary Harris and Cecilie Broome, the mural aims to create something bright and vibrant that makes people feel welcomed and valued. The overarching message is that community members are loved, seen, and always welcome. The artwork is intended to provide visual inspiration even on difficult days.

This is an opportunity for local artists to contribute to their community while creating public art that celebrates the CSRA region and supports a local nonprofit organization dedicated to food security and community support.
