NBA Team Basketball Art Display Opportunity

Utah artist Trent Call's Jazz-themed basketball displayed at 30 Rockefeller Center as part of 'NBA 30 Rocks at 30 Rock' exhibition.

This is a feature article about Utah artist Trent Call who was selected to design a basketball for the Utah Jazz as part of the '30 Rocks at 30 Rock' exhibition displayed in front of 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City. One basketball for every NBA team was selected to be shown, with each artwork taking the form of giant basketballs on top of 8-foot podiums. The exhibition was organized by NBC to connect each NBA team with their respective artists ahead of the NBA season. Call's work draws inspiration from animation, pop art, graffiti and outmoded Americana, and he is known for his sign painting, illustrations, oil paintings and murals. The artist has a personal connection to the Jazz, having grown up watching the team in the 80s and 90s. According to NBC Affiliate Marketing Coordinator Julia Colendenski, the art pieces will eventually be given to their respective NBA teams, meaning Jazz fans will likely be able to see Call's work in Salt Lake City during the season. This appears to be coverage of a completed exhibition rather than an open opportunity for artists to apply.
