New Dawn International Film Production Fund
€200K funding for diverse filmmakers' first/second feature films from participating countries with selective production support already secured.
The New Dawn International Funding Scheme supports a vibrant, inclusive film industry by providing financial assistance to talented filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. This initiative from public film funds aims to amplify underrepresented voices and perspectives in cinema. Eligible applicants must be independent production companies based in participating countries, working on feature-length films (60+ minutes) including live action, documentary, or animated fiction. The fund supports first or second-time feature directors whose projects have already received selective production support based on artistic quality. Fiction films can receive up to €200,000 with budgets capped at €3.5 million, while documentaries can receive up to €100,000 with €800,000 budget limits. Animated projects have no budget restrictions. Applications require joint motivation statements from producer, writer, and director explaining their connection to the fund's diversity mission. At least 50% of financing must be secured before applying. Projects selected for A-list festivals may also apply for promotional contributions. The evaluation process emphasizes creator voice and perspective, with preference given to projects from equity-seeking communities when applications are equally rated.
