New Woman Exhibition - Artist Applications
Juried group exhibition for women artists in Cincinnati. One artist selected for fellowship with $2,500 stipend and solo show.
The Clifton Cultural Arts Center is now accepting applications for "New Woman," a juried group exhibition showcasing artwork from women artists in the Cincinnati area. This is the third edition of this signature program, held in the Nourse Gallery—the first-floor gallery named after Elizabeth Nourse, one of the earliest women artists to achieve widespread recognition and make a living as a professional painter.
The exhibition aims to continue Elizabeth Nourse's tradition by spotlighting and empowering female artists at all career stages. In addition to having work displayed in the group exhibition, one winning artist will be selected for the biennial New Woman Fellowship at CCAC, which includes a solo exhibition and honorarium in the following year.
The selected 2026 New Woman Fellow will receive:
- Artist stipend of $2,500
- Solo exhibition in the CCAC Nourse Gallery
- Invitation to Women in the Arts Dinner to network with mentors and prominent arts professionals
- Materials budget of $1,000 toward a class, workshop, or community project led by an artist at CCAC
The exhibition runs from March 6 to April 3, with an opening reception on March 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The current New Woman Fellow is Devan Horton, a Northern Kentucky artist who creates paintings addressing how humans have corrupted nature. This opportunity celebrates the creative voices and contributions of women artists in the region.
