Oddities Show - Juried Exhibition

Great Lakes artists invited to submit work for the Sault Area Art Center's 'Oddities Show' exploring strange and peculiar themes.

The Sault Area Art Center is calling on Great Lakes artists to submit work for its upcoming 'Oddities Show,' a juried exhibition that explores strange and peculiar themes. This exhibition celebrates the odd, quirky, and unexpected elements that exist in both everyday life and the imagination.

The show will run from March through April 2026 and is open to visual artists, sculptors, and photographers working in a wide range of media. This inclusive approach allows artists from various disciplines to participate and showcase their unique perspectives on the theme of oddities.

Cash awards totaling $1,400 will be presented to selected artists, providing meaningful recognition and financial support. The top prize is a $500 Best of Show award, with additional awards distributed among other selected works. This monetary support makes the opportunity particularly attractive for emerging and established artists alike.

The deadline to submit entries is January 31st, 2026. Artists are encouraged to visit the Sault Area Art Center website to learn more about submission requirements and to submit their work through the official application portal. Early submission is recommended to ensure all materials are received before the deadline.

This juried exhibition represents an excellent opportunity for Great Lakes region artists to gain exposure, receive recognition, and potentially earn prize money. The focus on 'oddities' allows for creative interpretation and encourages artists to push boundaries and explore unconventional themes and approaches in their work.
