On The Wing: Nature That Takes Flight Art Show
Community art exhibition celebrating flying wildlife and nature. Multiple media welcome. Display runs March 28 - July 26, 2026.
Geauga Park District invites artists, families, and art lovers to participate in its newest community art show, "On the Wing...Nature That Takes Flight." This biennial exhibition will be displayed at The West Woods Nature Center from March 28 through July 26, 2026.
The exhibition celebrates creativity, movement, and the dynamic beauty of nature that takes to the skies. Artists are encouraged to explore the rapid flutter of hummingbirds, the sweeping glide of eagles, the aerial acrobatics of dragonflies, and countless other airborne moments found in the natural world. The theme of "Nature That Takes Flight" must occupy at least two-thirds of all artist submissions. Wildlife need not be portrayed as actively flying; rather, artwork should celebrate the types of wildlife that fly.
A variety of media are welcome, including drawing, painting, photography, and other media. There is a special youth category for artists ages 12 and under. Up to two entries will be accepted per artist.
Online applications must be submitted between February 12 and March 12, 2026. Walk-in applications and paper forms are not accepted. All rules and entry guidelines are posted on the Geauga Park District website, allowing artists to begin creating immediately. Photos of artwork must be submitted with the application.
