OneNKY Center Artist-in-Residence Program

2D visual artists invited to apply for $5,000 honorarium and 6-month exhibition at OneNKY Center Gallery in Covington, Kentucky.

ArtsWave, MeetNKY, and the Northern Kentucky Port Authority have opened applications for the OneNKY Center Artist-in-Residence Program, a high-visibility residency and exhibition opportunity. This initiative represents a formal collaboration to expand creative placemaking efforts across Northern Kentucky by integrating arts and culture directly into civic and economic development infrastructure.

The selected artist will receive a $5,000 honorarium and the opportunity to present a cohesive exhibition from April through September 10 in the gallery's 1,500-square-foot, first-floor public space located at 209 Greenup Street in Covington. The residency includes networking opportunities, three artist talks with the local community, and the creation of an original work that will remain at the OneNKY Center as a permanent addition.

The OneNKY Center serves as a central hub for economic and civic leadership, housing 10 regional growth organizations including MeetNKY, BE NKY Growth Partnership, and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. ArtsWave's director of creative placemaking is also based in the building, marking ArtsWave's first-ever satellite office in Northern Kentucky.

This residency is positioned as more than just displaying artwork—it's about shaping how residents and visitors understand the community through intentional placemaking that strengthens Northern Kentucky's identity and appeal as a destination.
