Open Call for Artists - Two Exhibition Shows

Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for two upcoming exhibitions exploring love and women's perspectives.

Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts in Manistee is issuing an open call for artists to participate in two upcoming gallery exhibitions. The first exhibition, "Art Is Love, Actually," runs from February 1-27, 2026, exploring art as an expression of love in its many forms—romantic, platonic, familial, and universal. This exhibition invites viewers to consider how creativity connects us to one another. An opening reception will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on February 1.

The second exhibition, "The Language of Women," opens March 6 and runs through April 10, 2026. This exhibition highlights the voices, perspectives, and experiences of women, examining how identity, culture, emotion, and storytelling are communicated through visual art. An opening reception is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. on March 8.

Artists of all backgrounds are invited to submit work for consideration. Each artist may submit up to three pieces, and there is no entry fee for submission. Selected works will be displayed as part of one of the upcoming exhibitions. Both exhibitions and receptions are open to the public. According to executive director Laura Ortiz-LaVelle, "These exhibitions reflect our commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue through the arts and creating accessible opportunities for artists to share their work." The gallery is located at Hardy Hall within the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts at 101 Maple Street in Manistee.
