Oviedo Arts and Entertainment District Logo Design
Logo design competition for Oviedo's new Arts and Entertainment District. Winner selected from 66 submissions.
The City of Oviedo held a competitive call for artists to design a logo for the newly established Oviedo Arts and Entertainment District. This opportunity was announced in June 2025 through a formal "Call to Artists" resolution adopted by City Council. The competition was promoted across multiple channels including city social media pages, the official website, city newsletter, social media groups, and email communications.
The competition received 66 applications and designs from interested artists. The submissions were evaluated by the Public Arts Board in August 2025, who selected the top four designs based on creativity and narrative qualities. From these finalists, the City Council made the final selection at their October 20, 2025 meeting.
The winning logo design was created by Kathleen Safi, a resident of Oviedo. The selected design will be featured on approved cups used for open container beverages during specified events within the designated district area around Oviedo in the Park.
The Oviedo Arts and Entertainment District, approved in coordination with the State of Florida, represents an important development for the city's cultural initiatives. It allows the City of Oviedo to designate a specific area where visitors can enjoy open containers of beverages purchased from licensed establishments, served in cups featuring the district's logo during approved events.
Following the logo selection, the city will proceed with adopting an ordinance for the designated district, which requires two public hearings before final implementation.
