Paint the Tables III - New Baltimore Public Art Project

Artists sought to paint picnic tables at New Baltimore park. Applications due Sept. 29. Fan-favorite design wins $100.

The New Baltimore Arts and Culture Commission is seeking artists for Paint the Tables III, returning to Maynard 'Red' Aurand Memorial Park this fall. This community art project invites artists to transform picnic tables into works of art, creating a unique public gathering place that celebrates local artistry. Artists must submit applications with full color renderings of their proposed picnic table painting designs by September 29. Artist selection will occur at the commission's regular meeting on October 1, with attendance not required. Selected artists will be notified by the commission. The painting event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 18 at the memorial park located at 52915 Huntley Ave. in New Baltimore, with October 19 as the rain date. Following completion, finished tables will be featured on the commission's social media platforms for public voting from October 21-27. The design receiving the most votes will earn the artist a $100 prize. This marks the third iteration of the popular project, following successful events in 2022 and the previous year. The initiative is part of the New Baltimore Arts and Culture Commission's mission to enrich the community by making arts vital elements in local life while supporting economic development and tourism.
