PSU Altoona Fall Performance Series - Local Artists
Penn State Altoona seeks regional artists 18+ for cabaret-style performances. Vocalists, instrumentalists, and playwrights welcome.
Penn State Altoona is hosting a performing arts series this fall featuring community artists in cabaret-style events. The performances will take place at 5 p.m. on Sundays, November 16 and 30, in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Center for Performing Arts. The events will include complimentary apple cider and cookies for attendees. Regional artists over the age of 18 are invited to participate in this community-focused initiative. Vocalists and instrumentalists should prepare approximately 20 minutes of repertoire and must provide their own accompaniment, accompanist, or instrument, though a piano will be available on-site. All musical genres are welcome and encouraged. Playwrights have a unique opportunity to showcase their work by submitting script excerpts between five and ten pages for review. Selected playwrights may perform readings lasting 30 minutes or less, though they must provide their own readers and actors. The events are completely free and open to the public, made possible through the generous support of the Kjell Meling Arts for All Initiative. This presents an excellent opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents in a professional venue while connecting with the community and fellow artists in an intimate, supportive setting.
