Public Art Mural/Installation Opportunity
Create a captivating mural or art installation in Kenneth C. Rowe Management building. Budget up to $5,000 CAD. Deadline January 26, 2026.
Dalhousie University's Faculty of Management is seeking a professional artist or artist collective to create a striking mural or art installation in the entrance lobby of the Kenneth C. Rowe Management building. This is a unique opportunity to showcase the intersection of art and management education in a highly visible location featuring large exterior windows and an enclosed lobby space.
The 16.6' x 24' display wall will serve as a prominent canvas for artwork that reflects the Faculty's commitment to diversity and inclusion, social and economic innovation, and connection to the unceded Mi'kmaq territory. The artwork will be viewed by both campus visitors and the broader community.
All mediums are welcome, provided they are suitable for an indoor location with significant natural light and can maintain vibrancy for a minimum of 5 years. Both original works and visual reproductions will be considered.
Eligibility is open to emerging and established artists with public art experience. Preference is given to artists currently residing in Nova Scotia or those with personal connections to Nova Scotia or Dalhousie University.
Compensation includes an artist fee of up to $5,000 CAD for original work or up to $2,500 CAD for reproductions, plus applicable copyright fees. All material and installation costs are covered up to $5,000 CAD. Selected artists will receive recognition and publicity through Dalhousie's communication channels.
Production and installation will occur between May and July 2026.
