Raynham Hall 'We the People' Exhibition Call
Raynham Hall Museum invites local artists to submit work inspired by the US Constitution's opening lines for exhibition April-August 2026.
Raynham Hall Museum is seeking artistic submissions for its third annual Call for Artists exhibition titled "We the People." This exhibition celebrates the 250th anniversary of America's 1776 founding and invites artists to respond to the opening words of the United States Constitution: "We the People."
The exhibition will run from April 23 to August 20, 2026, at Raynham Hall Museum in Oyster Bay, New York. A panel of local experts will select finalists, and an opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Artists from Long Island and New York City are eligible to participate. The curatorial theme explores what "We the People" means in contemporary society, particularly examining tensions and possibilities around citizenship, representation, and national identity. The museum invites artists to respond creatively to these themes and consider how the nation has evolved since its founding, noting that while the Constitution's promise was eloquent, it was only partially realized initially. The story of the United States continues to be one of redefinition as people of many backgrounds claim their place and push the nation toward its ideals of a more just and equitable society.
The deadline for submissions is March 18, 2026. Interested artists should visit Raynham Hall's official website to access submission guidelines and the application portal. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging and established artists to exhibit their work at a historic museum and participate in a meaningful curatorial dialogue about American identity and values.
