River Arts 'New Works' Juried Exhibition
Submit recent artwork to River Arts' juried show featuring all media. Juror: Daisy Greene. Deadline April 4, 2026.
River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for the upcoming juried exhibition 'New Works,' which showcases artists' most recent creations. This is an excellent opportunity for both emerging and established artists to exhibit their latest work in a professional gallery setting.
The exhibition is juried by Daisy Greene, an accomplished artist who taught for many years at Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta. Greene is renowned for her expressive paintings inspired by the Maine landscape, where bold color and strong composition blend elements of realism and abstraction. Her artistic philosophy emphasizes the journey—both for the artist and viewer—with each piece inviting viewers into a space where light and mystery converge.
'New Works' welcomes submissions in all media, including painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original printmaking, drawing, encaustic, pastel, glass, and mixed media. Artists working in all styles and approaches are encouraged to apply, whether representational, abstract, or experimental.
Submission Guidelines: Artists may enter either two pieces with a maximum size of 24 inches in any direction (including frame) or one piece with a maximum size of 50 inches in any direction (including frame). The exhibition is open to both River Arts members and nonmembers. Entry fees are $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
The exhibition runs from Tuesday, April 7 through Saturday, May 16, 2026. A public opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 2-4 p.m., providing an opportunity to meet fellow artists and the juror.
River Arts is located at 36 Elm Street in Damariscotta and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
