Sculpture in the Gardens returns for its highly anticipated 10th exhibition, an iconic summer outdoor showcase held at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. This is a premier opportunity for sculptors across Aotearoa New Zealand to exhibit large-scale, site-specific works in a public setting enjoyed by over 350,000 visitors annually.
The milestone 10th exhibition transforms the gardens into a spectacular open-air gallery, with selected works displayed along a walking trail to create an immersive outdoor experience. The organizers are seeking bold, imaginative sculptures that connect with the landscape, spark curiosity, and celebrate the relationship between art and nature.
Whether you're an emerging artist or an established sculptor, this is your opportunity to be part of one of Aotearoa's most loved outdoor art events. All selected artists will receive a $3,000 stipend, with additional awards available:
- Supreme Award: $10,000 cash prize
- People's Choice Award: $5,000 cash prize
- Acquisition Award: Your sculpture may be purchased for the Gardens' permanent collection
The exhibition runs from 14 November 2026 to 28 February 2027, providing an extended display period during the summer season. This is an excellent opportunity to gain significant public exposure and potentially secure funding for your work.
