Sensorio Open Call for Immersive Light Installations
Sensorio seeks artists to create outdoor light installations for nighttime exhibitions at their Paso Robles art destination.
Sensorio, a renowned outdoor art venue in Paso Robles, has announced its first international open call for artists, designers, and creators to submit proposals for new installations. The opportunity offers access to over 20,000 square feet of exhibit space across five different areas, with individual spaces ranging from 10,000 to 44,000 square feet. Artists are invited to create works that combine light and landscape, specifically designed for nighttime activation. The venue has previously featured acclaimed installations by Bruce Munro, HYBYCOZO, and collaborations with composer Nainita Desai. Proposals must incorporate light as the primary medium and be fully functional at night, with additional consideration given to works that could also function during daytime tours. Available spaces include Exhibit Area 3 (10,000+ sq ft), Area 8 (42,000+ sq ft), Area 9 (25,000+ sq ft), Area 12 (44,000+ sq ft), and Area 6 (10,000+ sq ft). The submission requires a comprehensive proposal including artist biography, portfolio, concept description, budget estimate, project timeline, technical requirements, and a letter of interest explaining artistic motivation. A live Q&A session will be held on September 18 from 10:30-11:30 AM PST for interested artists.
