Sheboygan Film Festival 2026 Artwork Commission

Create festival artwork featuring Dottie the pelican with a brat fry theme. $500 stipend plus promotional visibility.

The Sheboygan Film Festival is seeking an artist to create official artwork for its 2026 festival edition. This is an exciting opportunity to design festival materials featuring Dottie the pelican, the festival's beloved mascot inspired by filmmaker Dorothy Arzner, one of Hollywood's first successful female directors.

The artwork must incorporate several key elements: the festival mascot Dottie the pelican as the central figure, a brat fry and grilling theme, the festival's name, and ideally the Sheboygan Double Brat (two bratwurst sausages on a hard roll) for extra creative points. The final artwork will be used across multiple platforms including posters, merchandise, social media, and festival promotions.

Artists working in any medium are welcome to apply, provided they can deliver the final artwork as a high-quality, print-ready digital file. The selected artist will receive a $500 stipend, artist credit in all festival materials and social media posts, and significant visibility across the festival's promotional channels.

The Sheboygan Film Festival takes place October 1-4, 2026, and is organized by Belladonna Film Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit film production company dedicated to independent film in the Midwest. This second annual festival promises to be bigger and better than the previous year.

Interested artists should visit the festival website for complete submission requirements and to submit their application online. The application process requires links to past work for portfolio review.
