Signal Cabinet Public Art Project - Christiansburg
Create original artwork for signal cabinets throughout Christiansburg. Open to local and regional artists with November 1st deadline.
The Town of Christiansburg's Public Arts Advisory Board is seeking local and regional artists to design and create original artwork for select signal cabinets throughout the town. This public art project offers artists the opportunity to showcase their creativity in highly visible locations that will be seen by residents and visitors daily. The selected signal cabinet locations include four key intersections: Roanoke Street and East Main Street, South Franklin Street and West Main Street, Phlegar Street and West Main Street, and Radford Street and West Main Street. Artists will be able to transform these utilitarian structures into vibrant works of art that contribute to the community's visual landscape. The project represents a collaboration between the town government and local arts community to beautify public spaces and celebrate artistic expression. Maps showing the exact locations and images of the signal cabinets are available to help artists plan their designs. This initiative is part of Christiansburg's broader commitment to supporting public art and creating an engaging urban environment. The opportunity is open to both local and regional artists, providing a platform for creative professionals to gain public exposure while contributing to community development.
