Snohomish City Arts Advisory Board

Join Snohomish's new arts advisory board. 7-9 positions available for artists, nonprofit representatives, and community members. Apply by December 12, 2025.

The City of Snohomish is forming a new arts advisory board and is actively recruiting community members to serve. This community-focused board will play a crucial role in guiding public art policy, artist selection, and cultural programming for the city.

The board will be responsible for several key initiatives including developing a draft public art policy for City Council consideration, creating 'call for artists' and 'call for public art' templates and review processes, and identifying possible sites for public art in partnership with city departments and community organizations.

The arts advisory board originated from a 2024 City Council discussion regarding a potential Percent for Art ordinance and other arts programming options. The board aims to strengthen the community and help create public art and cultural experiences that reflect Snohomish as a whole.

Board Composition: The advisory board will consist of 7-9 members with a diverse mix including artists, individuals from nonprofits, community members, and one city council member. This composition ensures the board remains community-focused and representative.

Term Details: Each board member serves a three-year term, with the seat renewable for up to three terms, allowing for continuity and long-term commitment to the city's arts initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for artists and art enthusiasts to directly influence public art policy and cultural programming in Snohomish. Board members will have the chance to shape how the community engages with and experiences art while working collaboratively with city officials and community organizations.
