Spring Street Mural Commission

Create a mural celebrating the 20th anniversary of Princeton Environmental Film Festival. $500 stipend, all supplies provided.

The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP), in partnership with the Princeton Environmental Film Festival and Princeton Public Library, is seeking visual artists to design and paint a new Spring Street mural. This public art project celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Princeton Environmental Film Festival: Exploring our Relationship with Land and Water.

Artists are invited to submit mural proposals inspired by the connection to and relationship with land, water, and the underground spring for which Spring Street is named. The selected design will be painted on several panels spanning 32 feet by 8 feet and installed on a wall in Princeton.

The mural is scheduled to be completed and installed by February 1, 2025. Due to winter season considerations, a portion of the work may be completed indoors off-site. The completed mural will be on view through March 2026.

Selected artist will receive a $500 stipend, and all paint and supplies will be provided by the Arts Council of Princeton. This installation will become the latest in the ACP's series of Spring Street murals and continues the growing public art presence throughout Princeton. Other notable murals include Continuum by Illia Barger at Terra Momo Bread Company, Journey by Marlon 7oveChild Davila at John Street and Leigh Avenue, and multiple murals at Princeton Shopping Center.
