Storied: Art Inspired by Literature Exhibition

Second Story Gallery seeks artists 16+ for exhibit exploring themes from books, folklore, myths and poetry. Display May 1-29, 2026.

Second Story Gallery, located upstairs at the Camas Public Library (625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas), is calling for artists to participate in "Storied: Art Inspired by Literature and Storytelling," a new exhibition running from May 1 through May 29, 2026.

Artists ages 16 and older are invited to submit work in all mediums inspired by books, folk tales, myths, and poems. Submissions do not need to illustrate a specific text but can explore broader themes, emotions, and the power of stories in general.

Each artist may submit up to three pieces of artwork for consideration by a jury panel. The submission deadline is March 31, 2026.

To submit, artists should send photos via email to the gallery with each photo labeled with the artwork's title and dimensions. In the email body, include your name, one or two sentences describing how your art reflects the exhibition theme, the price if the artwork is available for sale, and the media used.

This is an excellent opportunity for local artists to showcase their work in a community space and connect their artistic practice with literary and narrative themes. The exhibition celebrates the intersection of visual art and storytelling, encouraging creative interpretations across various artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, and more.
