SUPERTOSCANA Residency Programme
Two 7-month artistic residencies for 20 artists and curators under 36 across Tuscany institutions.
FACT – Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci announces the inaugural SUPERTOSCANA residency programme, a unique opportunity for 20 young contemporary art practitioners under 36, including both artists and curators. Supported by the Tuscany Region through the FSE+ 2021–2027 programme for employment in the cultural heritage and contemporary art sectors, SUPERTOSCANA has been developed to foster professional growth and create meaningful opportunities within the contemporary art field.
The programme is carried out in collaboration with key cultural institutions across Tuscany: Archivio Vittorio Giorgini – Ba.Co. in Baratti, Casa Masaccio in San Giovanni Valdarno, Fondazione Magazzini Generali in Livorno, MudaC in Carrara, and Siena Art Institute in Siena.
Inspired by the radical vision of SUPERSTUDIO, SUPERTOSCANA invites participants to rethink the relationship between living beings, urban and natural landscapes, and technological development. The programme opens space for reflection on ecological, decolonial, and queer perspectives, as well as collective practices and renewed narratives of place.
The residency consists of two seven-month cycles, combining interdisciplinary training, territorial research, and production. Participants will engage in professional development activities while conducting research across Tuscany's diverse landscapes and urban contexts. The programme culminates in a group exhibition and the publication of a catalogue featuring participants' work and research outcomes.
The full open call and detailed application guidelines will be available from December 15 on Centro Pecci's official channels and partner institution websites.
