Take Back The Night Artist Showcase - UNLV Care Center
Art showcase for Domestic Violence Awareness Month seeking performing arts, visual art, poetry, and multimedia works to raise awareness and inspire healing.
The UNLV Care Center is calling for artists to participate in their Take Back The Night Artist Showcase in commemoration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). This meaningful event harnesses the power of art to raise awareness about domestic violence, provide a platform for dialogue and empathy, and inspire a collective stand against violence. Artists are invited to contribute work that honors the resilience of victim-survivors, promotes healing, and connects the community in the movement to end violence. The showcase welcomes a diverse range of artistic mediums including performing arts, dance, singing, poetry, spoken word, creative writing, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, and mixed-media or multimedia installations. The event is open to UNLV staff, faculty, students, and the general public. Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the UNLV Alumni Amphitheater on October 30th from 3-5 PM. The Care Center staff will select participating artists based on availability of time, appropriate subject matter, and technical capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to use their creative voice to address important social issues and contribute to community awareness and healing around domestic violence prevention.
