The Shaft Exhibition - Mining Heritage Community Art Show
Non-juried community exhibition focused on mining heritage themes, open to all artists with up to three pieces per submission.
The Copper Country Community Arts Center invites artists to participate in The Shaft, a community exhibition celebrating mining heritage held annually in November. This non-juried exhibition welcomes artists of all levels to submit up to three pieces exploring the broad theme of mining and its impact on the region. Artists can draw inspiration from various aspects including the current landscape shaped by mining, mining structures both past and present, how nature reclaims previously mined land, the social impact mining had on communities, the rich history of mining in the Copper Country, specific historical features, and personal family stories connected to mining heritage. The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their work while contributing to the preservation and interpretation of the region's mining legacy. The show will be displayed for nearly a month, giving substantial exposure to participating artists. A special reception during Party with the Arts will provide networking opportunities and community engagement. This is an inclusive, accessible opportunity for both emerging and established artists to participate in a meaningful community cultural event that honors the area's industrial heritage while exploring its ongoing influence on the landscape and community.
