The Soffen Fund Travel Grants (US)
Up to $1,000 travel grants for students in aerospace-related sciences to present research at conferences.
The Soffen Fund offers Travel Grants to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in aerospace-related sciences or engineering fields, including astrobiology, astronomy, earth and space science, and engineering. These grants provide funding for students to attend conferences where they will present their research, supporting both virtual and in-person conference attendance. Awards are up to $1,000 total, with no individual award exceeding $500. The number of awards depends on applicant needs and is contingent upon acceptance of recipients' conference abstracts. Recipients must participate in or attend the conference using the Travel Grant and may supplement with other funding sources if needed. However, additional funds cannot be requested from the Soffen Fund beyond the initial award. Upon receiving the grant, recipients are required to acknowledge the Soffen Memorial Fund in their conference presentations and submit their presentation materials for posting on the fund's Travel Grant webpage. This requirement ensures recognition for the fund while creating a valuable resource for future applicants. Students of all nationalities enrolled full-time in accredited undergraduate or graduate institutions in the United States are eligible to apply. The application process includes a review period, with award notifications made approximately one month after the deadline.
