Through the Lens: Exploring Photographic Art

Watauga Arts Council seeks photography submissions for juried exhibition showcasing traditional, digital, and experimental photographic art.

The Watauga Arts Council is accepting submissions for its juried exhibit 'Through the Lens: Exploring Photographic Art.' This exhibition invites photographers and photo-based artists to submit works that showcase the expressive possibilities of photography, from powerful single images to imaginative collages and montages. Artists working in traditional, digital, or experimental photography are encouraged to apply. Submissions should demonstrate strong visual impact, technical skill, and artistic intention with photography as the central medium. This marks one of the first exhibitions under WAC's new structured gallery operations system, designed to provide clarity, consistency, and expanded opportunities for artists. The new structure includes juried selection panels made up of local artists and arts leaders, ensuring thoughtful curation with both artistic excellence and community representation. The exhibit celebrates photography as a powerful artistic medium capable of storytelling, abstraction, and emotion, highlighting both traditional craftsmanship and experimental techniques that push visual art boundaries. This opportunity is open to both seasoned and emerging artists.
