Transatlantic Rising Stars Project - Visual Arts Residency

Fully funded 8-week U.S. residencies for EU visual artists, including stipend, materials budget, and D.C. exhibition opportunity.

The Transatlantic Rising Stars Project offers EU visual artists an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and cultural exchange through eight-week residencies across diverse American communities from April to early June 2026. This fully funded program covers travel, accommodation, living stipends, and materials budgets while providing artists with studio space, equipment access, and community networks. Residency locations span unique settings from Alaska fishing communities to Southern urban arts hubs, Midwestern prairie towns, Western working ranches, and historic Southwest trading posts. Artists will collaborate with U.S.-based peers, engage with local communities through extensive public programming, and participate in monthly virtual gatherings with fellow program participants. The experience culminates in Washington D.C. with a public summit and exhibition showcasing work developed during residency. Selected artists receive mentorship, industry introductions, and visibility opportunities designed to foster lasting transatlantic collaborations. The program welcomes all visual arts mediums with strong visual components based in physical space, requiring participants to produce at least one work for exhibition. Artists must demonstrate professional standing through critical acclaim, media coverage, residency experience, market presence, or educational credentials.
