We Love Dexter Public Art Display 2026

Artists of all ages invited to submit original works celebrating Dexter for community display throughout February.

The City of Dexter is hosting its third annual 'We Love Dexter' public art display, inviting artists of all ages to celebrate the community through creative expression. This initiative, sponsored by the City of Dexter's Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee, offers a wonderful opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents while highlighting what makes Dexter a special place to live.

Participants are encouraged to submit original creative works that reflect what they love about Dexter. The opportunity welcomes a wide variety of artistic mediums, including photographs, drawings, paintings, poems, songs, short stories, or other artistic expressions inspired by the city's character and charm. This inclusive approach allows artists working in various disciplines to participate and share their unique perspectives on the community.

Selected pieces will be displayed throughout the community during the month of February, providing artists with valuable public exposure and the chance to contribute to Dexter's cultural landscape. This is an excellent opportunity for both emerging and established artists to gain visibility within the local community.

All artwork submissions must adhere to size requirements, with pieces no larger than 11 by 14 inches. Each submission should include a tag containing the artist's name, the title of the piece, and contact information. These guidelines ensure consistent presentation across all displayed works.

The deadline for submissions is January 16, and all works must be physically delivered to Dexter City Hall. This community-focused initiative celebrates local creativity and strengthens the cultural bonds within Dexter, making it an ideal opportunity for artists who want to engage with and give back to their community through art.
