The Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) is pleased to announce the second year of its themed, non-juried exhibition: "Wintering." This exhibition invites artists to explore the multifaceted nature of the winter season, showcasing the quiet beauty, stark wonder, and distinct challenges of the colder months.
"Wintering" is open to all Maine-based artists. The foundation encourages submissions ranging from representative to abstract work across all media including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, ceramics, and digital art.
Artists may submit up to two pieces of their work in person at the BRAF Gallery during designated drop-off dates: Monday, January 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, January 13 from 9 a.m. to Noon.
The exhibition will be on view from January 15 through March 8, 2026. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the BRAF Gallery located at 1 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor.
This is an excellent opportunity for Maine artists to participate in a non-juried show that celebrates artistic interpretation of winter. Following a successful inaugural year, the show has resonated with the local creative community and provides a platform for diverse artistic expressions.
