Women in Art on the Streets - London Billboard
Five women artists selected to display work on London digital billboards during International Women's Day 2026, reaching thousands daily.
IWD 2026 presents an exciting collaboration with Creative Flair and Women in Art to showcase women artists' work on digital billboards across London. This public art initiative transforms commercial advertising spaces into platforms for women's creative expression, aligning with the IWD 2026 campaign theme 'Give To Gain.'
The initiative addresses a critical gap: outdoor advertising spaces shape culture and perception, yet rarely showcase women's independent creative voices. By featuring women's artwork in high-visibility public locations, this project asks a powerful question: 'What happens when creative space is shared more equitably?'
Five artworks will be selected and displayed repeatedly throughout March 8 on digital screens at five major London locations: Kings Cross (major commuter hub connecting six underground lines), Angel Islington (vibrant creative district), Shoreditch (one of London's most photographed streets), Waterloo (next to Europe's busiest train station), and Tower Bridge (global landmark). Each artwork will be seen multiple times per hour by commuters, families, collectors, and communities.
Submissions are open to women artists exploring themes of empowerment, identity, resilience, and creative voice. Work will be reviewed based on artistic quality, conceptual strength, relevance to International Women's Day's spirit, and visual impact at large-scale. Selected artworks must command attention in public space while reflecting diverse perspectives and lived experiences.
This opportunity provides visibility, exposure, and recognition for women artists in commercial spaces traditionally inaccessible to independent creatives. The initiative celebrates women's talent and elevates their visibility for future commercial projects and commissions.
