Your Time for Art - Artist Call 2026
Donate artwork to a unique volunteer-hour auction benefiting Itasca County nonprofits at the 2026 Community Celebration.
United Way of 1000 Lakes is inviting local artists to contribute artwork to "Your Time for Art," a one-of-a-kind auction event featured at the 2026 Community Celebration on May 21 at Timberlake Lodge in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This innovative event combines art appreciation with community volunteerism, allowing attendees to bid on artwork using volunteer hours as currency instead of traditional monetary bids.
The event uniquely inspires community members to serve local nonprofits while celebrating the creativity of regional artists. New this year, artwork will also be available for outright purchase, expanding both visibility and impact for participating artists.
Since its inception in 2024, Your Time for Art has generated more than 650 volunteer hours for area nonprofits, equating to nearly $18,000 in community value. This demonstrates the significant impact artists can have on their community through participation.
Artists are encouraged to donate paintings, photography, sculpture, glasswork, or other visual art forms. The artwork must be received by May 1, 2026, unless other arrangements are made with the organizers.
This is an excellent opportunity for regional artists to gain exposure, contribute to community nonprofits, and be part of a meaningful initiative that strengthens Itasca County through service, connection, and community impact.
