About
Alessandra Moctezuma is Gallery Director and Professor of Art at San Diego Mesa College, where she leads the Museum Studies program and teaches Chicano art. She earned her BA and MFA in painting and printmaking from UCLA and previously served as a public arts officer for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and as gallery curator for the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) in Venice, California. Her exhibitions center Chicana and Latinx art, including The Politics of Portrayal: Three Generations of Chicana Portraiture in Los Angeles and the 2026 group show Instructions for Unrest: Art Against Complacency.
