Artist Reception: Olivia Hoppe at Ripple River Gallery

Ripple River Gallery in Aitkin, Minnesota hosts a public reception for artist Olivia Hoppe, whose painted works are on view from June 17 through July 12. Hoppe, who grew up in Aitkin and now lives and works in Miltona, draws inspiration and materials from her rural Minnesota surroundings. She paints meticulous, detailed images of fish, birds, plants, and insects onto unexpected surfaces, including gourds she grows, cattle bones from the farm where she lives, slabs of wood from her husband's sawmill, and layers of wasp nest paper.
