Gail Kidwell: Fiber Art Reception

The Southside Art League hosts an artist reception and open house for its featured June artist, Gail Kidwell, from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, June 5, at the Off Broadway Gallery in Greenwood. A Trafalgar-based artist, Kidwell works in fiber, contorting and manipulating yarn into yarn windows, yarn paintings, yarn dolls, felted nature pieces, and wall hangings, often reusing and reinventing materials such as wool from thrifted coats. Her one-person show runs through June 27 and aims to show the potential of fiber art and the imagination behind everyday materials.
