About This Event
The WAVE Interlake Artists' Studio Tour returns June 13 and 14, celebrating its 25th year as Manitoba's longest-running artist studio tour. The free, self-guided event features 21 studios stretching from the Petersfield area north to Hecla Island, including several stops in Arborg, and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Among the participating artists is Arborg sculptor and former Winnipeg police forensic artist Jerry Maryniuk, who will show approximately 70 new sculptures and paintings at his studio at 212 Park Crescent. A police officer for 26 years who served as the department's primary forensic artist, Maryniuk turned to sculpture full time after retiring in 2001, working in clay, paint, caricature and bone art. 'People can come into our studios, check out our art, see what we do and how we do it,' he said. 'It validates what you do.'
