Shapes and Variations: Artist Reception with Michael Tirrell

Trove Artisan Boutique & Gallery in downtown Searsport, Maine presents Shapes and Variations, an exhibition by studio potter Michael Tirrell. Tirrell makes vessels that celebrate variation, embracing the subtle differences that make each handmade piece unique. Trained in pottery studios across New England and at the historic Leach Pottery in Cornwall, England, he brings a deep respect for craftsmanship and the natural character of clay to his work, with restrained glazes that reveal depth and understated elegance. The artist reception runs Saturday, July 18, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a chance to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. The event is free and open to the public. Trove features contemporary handmade work by more than 70 Maine artisans.
