ChromaForm

The Rose Art Museum reopens with ChromaForm, on view August 19, 2026, through May 31, 2027, in Waltham, Massachusetts. The exhibition ruminates on the vitality of color and geometry in mid-20th-century abstraction, a movement characterized by clarity, structure, and perception. The late American painter Leon Polk Smith, considered one of the founders of the hard-edge style of minimal abstract art, is among the featured artists. He explored shaped canvases with contrasting, vibrant color.
