Edward Kingsbury III

Canal Street Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition of work by Edward Kingsbury III, on view June 19 through August 9, 2026 in Bellows Falls, Vermont. A self-taught artist based in Keene, New Hampshire, Kingsbury makes large abstract acrylic paintings, intricate ink drawings and printed digital work built from interlocking lines, color and pattern. His pen-and-India-ink drawings leave much of the watercolor paper as negative space, while his acrylic paintings layer opaque and transparent color into a luminous, woven surface. For Kingsbury, making art is an extension of his practice of prayer, and the resulting abstractions stand as his representation of God.
