Flora and Fauna: A Closer Look
About the Exhibition
Flora and Fauna: A Closer Look is a group exhibition at The Art Hive in Prescott, Arizona, gathering four contemporary artists from the Prescott community around the textures, patterns and fleeting moments of the natural world. The show features Cecile Gaunteaume in drawing and fiber art, Tracy Horner in watercolor, and Delisa Myles and Shauna Tewksbury in photography. Curated by Art Hive board member Alina Pellicer, the exhibition is conceived as an invitation to mindfulness, encouraging visitors to slow down and observe nature up close. As Pellicer describes it, the artists use their respective mediums to zoom in on details that often go unnoticed, transforming the gallery into a space of quiet observation where each work reveals more of itself the longer you look. The exhibition opens on the 4th Friday Art Walk, June 26, from 5:00 to 8:00pm, and runs through July 19 at 203 N. Cortez St. The Art Hive's 30-plus resident artist studios will also be open during the opening event.
