Grids of Life
Franck Scurti
May 22, 2026 - July 4, 2026
About the Exhibition
Franck Scurti's inaugural solo show at Meessen De Clercq, Brussels, examines elementary structures such as the grid, interstitial space, and color as systems that shape perception and consumption. The Grids of Life series intervenes in worn industrial grids with plasticine and subjective color, revealing material history and vulnerability. Black Boxes seals chocolate wrappers beneath black asphalt as relics of consumer capitalism and astrocapitalism, while Memory Map is a hand-drawn planisphere rendered entirely from memory. Collectively the works address a gridded, packaged and administered world while seeking to reopen spaces of sensation.
