Illinois All-State Juried Art Exhibition
About the Exhibition
The Giertz Gallery at Parkland College presents the Illinois All-State Juried Art Exhibition, on view through July 23, 2026. The summer show expands a regional exhibition the gallery has run in partnership with 40 North: Champaign County Arts Council, widening the scope this year to include artists from across Illinois, including the Chicago area and the southernmost regions of the state. Misa Jeffereis, associate curator at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, served as guest juror, selecting work from more than 165 applicants and over 450 submissions. The final exhibition presents one piece from each of 44 selected artists, spanning photography, painting, ceramics, sculpture, fiber, and mixed media. The Giertz Gallery is an academic gallery at Parkland College in Champaign that focuses on programs sparking critical thinking and conversation rather than sales. Admission is free, with free parking and bus access. A closing reception will be held July 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with remarks by Jeffereis at 6:15 p.m.
