About the Exhibition

In Service opens at Studio B Art Gallery in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, on June 26, 2026, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., and runs through August 23. The exhibit gathers work from dozens of local artists who were invited to interpret the theme of service in their own styles and mediums. It is curated by artist Bob Hakun, Studio B's gallery director, with artist Robert Louis Williams serving as juror for prizes. Funded by a grant from the Marlene L. Driscoll Fund of the Berks County Community Foundation, the show ties the theme of service to the 250th anniversary of the United States and to acts of community care. It includes a display of thank-you notes from community members and Boyertown High School students, which visitors are invited to add to through the summer, and a mural by Williams created as Studio B's entry into the Bells of Boyertown activity of the Boyertown Area Historical Society's Freedom Fest. A Reading and Reception for Writers, featuring poetry and prose on the theme of service, will be held at Studio B on June 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. The gallery is at 39 E. Philadelphia Ave., open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. and Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. through the summer.
