Los Trompos

Los Trompos, Spanish for spinning tops, is a free interactive art installation on display at Short Pump Town Center in Henrico County, Virginia, through July 12, 2026. The installation features eight large, three-dimensional tops created by Mexican artists, which visitors can climb inside to sit and relax or work together to spin on their bases. The traveling installation brings a piece of Mexican culture to the Richmond area for the summer. Organizers and community partners, including the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, frame it as a way for families to experience contemporary design and Latin American culture through hands-on play. Los Trompos opened on June 13, 2026, and remains on view through July 12 at Short Pump Town Center.
