Miikawaadad Wanichigewin: Beautiful Mistake

Miikawaadad Wanichigewin, or Beautiful Mistake, presents work by Kane Goulet at the Watermark Art Center in Bemidji, Minnesota. The exhibit is a compilation of abstract paintings and stylized interpretations drawn from Goulet's experiences and travels. Goulet describes a practice that begins with the understanding that perfection is unattainable, using that idea as a starting point rather than resisting it. At its core, he says, the work celebrates curiosity, enjoyment, and the freedom to have fun while making something honest. An artist reception is set for 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the Watermark Art Center, 505 Bemidji Ave. N., with an artist talk by Goulet at 2:30 p.m.
